WORLD THEY LIVE IN. 

My belief I don’t believe in God I believe in science simply because it has evidence behind a mechanic guy that I have to see it to believe it. In  poor countries there are kids sleeping in the streets, drinking dirty water and their government can’t do anything so how come God Jesus wont do anything about it I just find it wrong should  that call for miracle. So yeah I’m more of  a science Guy until it comes up to the big bang I have no idea what the hell make universe has to be some Kind of a god which makes me a bit of the hypocrite.

Quite a shy guy, funny, sweet, kind, very annoying luckily I know when I am small mixed race Welsh Caribbean 19.

 Explain political phenomena – give meaning

to life (desire to be “good parent”; mining

Give meaning to life what everybody’s life is different. But these is one thing you need to have that is money. it’s a lot harder to live if you were to have money non. If you didn’t have money well would you live how we get food I would keep warm. In many foreign education without a education you can get a good job to do things as you want in life.

Everybody knows what is right and wrong, but it’s down to the parents to teach you when you’re younger to know the difference. You can tell which kids have been brought right with good parents and the ones that haven’t.

Ideologies are accomplished in and through the repeated actions of everyday life. They reflect our social commitments while at the same time anchoring them deeper in daily practice. Habits of belief through behavior become more entrenched and legitimate.

I like this paragraph I tend to do the same things every day which I hate. I wake on the TV then play my PlayStation go make some food watch more TV play PlayStation again and go a bed. And do the same thing the next day’ so when something else happens that changes the cycle for example go out with my mates, makes me happier and give me a positive behavior.

    

Control

We have cctv cameras everywhere in the world so the police and see what we are doing is this a good thing or a bad thing, I think both in my eyes if someone commits a crime cctv cameras help completely. if your not a criminal then it’s a   wrong being watched all the time thing is there is nothing you can do to change it you just have to live with it and stay out of trouble, also if trouble comes to you then the cctv become your friend.

Another thing Whiles I was writing this I was watching road wars and they said even when they chase someone; they get court by the cctv and get anyways.

At the end of the day cctv is a good thing its just the people who are watching us that we get concerned.







Panopticon 

In 1785, English philosopher jeremay bentham proposed a design for a prison called the panopticon. The prison had a central point from which prison wardewrs were able to watch all the prisoners simultaneously, whilst themselves remaining unobserved.

Two key advantages to this design, Benthan claimed. Firstly, as prisoners would now know whether they were being watched or not, warders would not of been on duty all the time so reducing cost and secondly not knowing if they were being watched all the time the prisoners would have better behaviour.

Its wasn’t just built for confinement and punishment but a design for the inmates morals.

Well yeah that’s really true Foucault in the Army, the school, hospital, factories that they have evolved around Beantham’s  panopticon. All levels of modern life, and you work daemonic life. A weather arouses tracking is all rules of acceptable behaviour, but with that we are felt that we are being watched even that we aren’t, it’s still a possibility that we are.

There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. Today there is of course no way of knowing you are being watched still you can look at a CCTV camera but you don’t know if it’s looking at you. CCTV is like the web of Power look at that everybody not just you. There is a mean of the control.

It says it was conceivable that they were being watched every time, the only way that we could be watched every time in today’s world was by a computer and even then it had to be seen by humans Sees humans think that everybody all the time it’s kind of faults in my eyes.

Karl Marx

Suggested that ideologies arise in class-divided societies for the express purpose of political domination

suggested that I do largely arises in class what kind of class the rich the working man in the poorer smart people are stupid people religious people and nonreligious people.

§  “the class that has the means of material production at its disposal consequently also controls the means of mental production” – the class which is the ruling material force of society is at the same time its ruling intellectual force

 So the smart people of ruling intellectual force which is kind of true, if you are smart that will be able to gain power and money which means the best ideology class, is the  class that has the means of material production.

§  “the ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas” – thinkers are producers of ideas that the ruling classes use to regulate society

the ruling class would be the government fought they tell is that you can do this so what’s right and wrong, and we use this to help in regular society.

yes this is true again people have physical jobs and others have mental jobs, for work  you need both but some are better than others.  You need scientists that you need it bin men as well.

Karl Marx says

People aren't slaves by nature and God made woman to serve man is faults. Man said that God made women to serve man. Yes a powerful class legitimates position via ideology.

In my eyes it’s a lot more believable that man told other men, that we could get women to do basically their bidding by saying God made them to do this and do that for them.

Legitimacy

Of course in a large organisation, there is a power structure and everyone really leader you some higher authority to answer to. Legitimate power can be a relevant concept due to the very nature of power. It. One who takes it. A leader may experience more power than his limits for example they could be accepting additional responsibility from their seniors from the people. Also, a leader may exercise power limit of legitimate boundaries by dividing the jobs to get them people under his or her command.

Also Sometimes in situations where people forget what their legitimate powers are on the abuse it. Maybe they get greedy with power may be the just not very nice people entirely some use the power of a how to control the people who have are  a post to lead. To some of legitimate power is the set of rights which a leader inherits as a was sort of his or her position in a power structure.

Reproduction involving key institutions is interesting churches says u can only have sex after marriage whiles schools teach you that u can only have sex at a sustain age and you can have the option to wait till you are ready. These societies don’t really clash until they confront each other.

Hegemony

·         While ideology emanates from the ruling classes, it becomes hegemonic when it takes on the character of common-sense use and the understanding of the masses in society. It’s this status that makes it possible for others in society to see their interests represented. by the ideology and to become part of the process of reproducing it. This characteristic explains sacrifices by subordinate classes in nationalistic struggles and imperialist ventures

What is hegemony.  Is a big word for a fairly simple idea. One powerful people use their influence to convince less powerful people in the best interests.  I saw this piece about Nathan palmer, Nathan palmer discuss how hegemony is used to get his daughter to bed and to justify the growing economic inequality in the United State.

Hegemony is the act of convincing another that it is in their best interest to do what you want them to do.

As a guy called Tom Sawyer famously convinced his friends that painting a fence was so much fun begging him to let them do Sawyer’s work for him.

Understanding the masses in society and ruling classes, so hegemony is the act to convince another that it is in their best interest to do what they want to  them to do, and a example of this is war.

If we go to war hegemony would be the best way to go about it, so the ruling classes use hegemony to convince the masses in society to go to war. Society would be the country and the people. What would the higher classes used to hegemony the less class a good example is George Bush he wanted to invade Iraq for oil and use the good and bad idea if we don’t stop them( terrorist). They will attack again worse the 911 and the fact they said they had weapons of mass destruction.

Also fake preachers that’s sell god to get them money by convincing them they will public that’s the only way they will be saved.

Common sense is “the way a subordinate class lives its subordination.

Common sense to do what you are told in a subordinate class if to a higher stronger class.

Gramsci and hegemony

·         Coercion and consent…hegemony is a relation, not of domination by means of force, but of consent by means of political and ideological leadership. It is the organisation of consent. Gramsci saw hegemony as a concept both in gaining state power and in maintaining that power once it has been achieved. “A hegemonic class, or part of a class, is one which gains the consent of other classes and social forces through creating and maintaining a system of alliances by means of political and ideological struggle.” Notion of building up alliances is central to concept of hegemony.

  I have said about Gramsci, schools, churches, and media about reproduction. The church uses hegemony. The church says if you do that this will have to make to stop you doing it. What you are doing is a sin, and god will punish you.

Also talking about consent back then you needed the churches consent to marry one another. Otherwise you couldn’t.

Many rick countries America for example use these wealth and power coercion poorer weaker smaller countries giving aid and money so hopefully they will be pro-American and also withdrawing aid and money to countries that don’t share their thoughts and ideology.

Althusser

·         DOMINANT IDEOLOGY: Althusser each society has a dominant ideology shared by a majority of people * dominant in numerical terms * dominant in the sense that it tends to support the interests of the dominant, ruling groups

 Dominant ideology socirty has a dominant ideology shared majority of people the people who have power and that are happy  so like the people in Britain. The ruling groups of Britain would be the rich.

Meaning of the service of power

·         Repressive State apparatuses: government, hv, army, police, , prisons, etc. “Repressive” suggests SAs “function by violence” – at least ultimately Althusser calls church, schools, family, belief in the power of law, belief in political systems, tradeunionism, etc, Ideological State Apparatuses – ISAs  RSAs belong to the public domain; ISAs to the private domain. RSAs function predominantly by repression and secondarily by ideology; ISAs function primarily by ideology and secondarily by repression, even if concealed or even symbolic “No class can hold State power over a long period without at the same time exercising its hegemony over and in the State Ideological Apparatuses

The people who go to school, church are the good people who believe and abide the law who trust the system. And will follow the rules set by their government. Trust in the police, army and prisons as long as they do their service and does their job to keep the people happy. Classes will exercise

Hegemony over a long period of time may happen but like I said if it doesn't affect the people. 

My Summary of ideology

Control, power, beliefs and opinions are the things you grow you which mold you to become who you are.

It’s your own choice to make, yes when you are a child they can be forces upon you but when you start growing up you may change, you beliefs or opinions/ options in life which verse from your beliefs.

In my eyes you can do what every you want as long as it’s good which is what iv been grown you to believe, but in some religions that thought is wrong example Muslims women can’t, they have to work for men. There are many ideology some may be right and some may be wrong. Everyone has different opinions there for you can’t label the right one if so you would have to forces it upon them and that is wrong all together.

Everyone has to follow a law it may be different in other countries it could be a wrong thing to what you think but you can’t stop it just have to live with it. That comes to many things in life we aren't in a utopia yet.

People have power that you don’t like you may have less control over others that’s the way it is in life it is never perfect.

Family, friend, governments, aren't perfect if it’s really affecting you or as a people there will come a point when you will protest agents what is happening.

So for example when David Cameron put the student fees and Migrate Thatcher introduce the poll tax. It doesn’t affect the higher class because they have the money, but when it comes to the lower and middle classes it becomes an issue.  

Like the old saying, you can fool some of the people all the time. All the people some of the time but you can-not fool all the people all the time.
