Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema (1975) - Laura Mulvey
Originally Published - Screen 16.3 Autumn 1975 pp. 6-18

If the law is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then I say, break the law.

There is pleasure at being looked at gives you self confidence in a positive way its erotic which is the part of the make gaze.
Freud isolated scopophilia as one of the component instincts of sexuality which exist as drives quite independently of the erotogenic zones. At this point he associated scopophilia with taking other people as objects, subjecting them to a controlling and curious gaze.
Talking about making a female an object to the sexual male gaze. My opinions on the subject is that yes it’s wrong to turn a female to an object, obviously but men also women can’t really help attraction is a powerful thing, which is very hard to hold back.
Next curious which is a massive part of the gaze. Freud example was the activates of the child and their desire to see and make sure of the private and the forbidden. When you are young you don’t have a sexual desire then as you grow older you start gain the desire of the oppressed sex and to see the privets which is forbidden and to men which makes man wants it more.
He carrys on saying abou narcissistic and other facture like the ego that it is the erotic basis for pleasure in looking at another person as object. Which is some what true everyone has a ego and being looked at is a way to satisfy it even as a object. But there can be a down side the that you can grow a obsession to it you can become a private and obtain an fetish maybe even an addiction, it can happen so for an example of pervades being addicted to strip clubs, which is the biggest male gaze you can get.
Looking at the cinema saying that it’s playing on phantasy and other things. I was more interested in, looking in on a private world. Among other things, the of the spectators in the cinema is blatantly one of repression of their exhibitionism and projection of the repressed desire on to the performer.
When in the cinema you’re looking at the exhibitionist the projection of the repressed desire on the performer, like a gazer in a strip club, its doesn’t have to be a private situation. Just the desire of the performer.
It says the cinema satisfies a primordial wish for pleasurable looking. And film focas attention on the human form scale, space, stories, human face, body.
Jacques Lacan
Talking about when a baby recognizes its self in the mirror and the start of the ego.
Image and self. You can forget about you ego.
Woman as Image, Man as Bearer of the Look
Female displayed as an image. For the male gaze,

Megan fox in transforms is in this film just for male gaze not for her pat and this seen is proof of the looking at the face and female form. Curiosity to see the forbidden “private” . he says who makes him act the way he does. Budd Boetticher in herself the woman has not the slightest importance which is completely true.

Another example, here the male gaze beautiful women in a tight alt fit bending over.

gender

Looking back at the: Gender & The Gaze:
– Who’s looking at Who?  –
Gender duke nukem, shown on the first slide of the power point and a great example of whats rong with the male gaze, females to males representation. The man all tool strong and powerful and female in her underwear. It is so sexist to female, I played the demo of the game and that was just the man shooting monsters showing about being an idiot but whiles being the hero.

These images are just to prove my point of sexism of this game. I googled this game and went on images and scrolled all the way down and the only images of females where there’s two.
Girl half naked and two girls rapped around the the main character (male).

Gender : In contemporary thought and discourse, this term is primarily understood to be referring to a socially determined identity construct. That is, one’s gendered identity as culturally, rather than biologically determined.

This power point is sadly true males and female kind of have to wear curtain clothes other wise they will be pinned as gays or lesbians. So for example guys in today's world guys who wear tight clothes where make- up are looked at gay, but it shouldn't be like that same with females if seen with their hair cut wearing guy clothes they are seen to be lesbians, yes it is the style of homosexuality but the fact that if u aren’t and people see and think you are anyway wrong. isn't that sexist that u have to wear a certain thing to be seen as what you are,  also this sexist stereotypical view starts when you are a baby boys in blues and girls in pink, boys fire truck girls dolls.

Sex : This term is used to designate the subjects biologically determined identity as male or female. However, recent advances in medical technologies have introduced a far wider range of difference into out understanding of biologically determined sex.

Sex man women. Yes you are born like that, but there is nothing to say that you have to be girly or manly if you are man or women. Society has made it this way, that man has to be man and girl has to be girl.
Times have changed to prove things have changed wmen can have the most money have high end jobs even to a physical appearance. ”female bodybuilders.”

Gender Stereotypes:
The nature / culture question
I started talking about stereotypes how man and women are seen in a certain way as in looks.
Going deeper in the issue, you have behavior and career and so on.

Behaviour between the male and female from the start says that women are a lot calmer than men but this isn’t really true man and women are different yes so women are calmer then men  but also some men are calmer then women is a bad stereotype saying that its true and also sexist.
And the same with careers males always say that men should have the better job even if teasing. There isn’t anything wrong with successful and powerful women just look at Roser park Debra Meaden  from the TV series Dragons Den, Oprah, Beyoncé and many more. And better yet females don’t even have to be beautiful to be inspiring and inspirational no offence, look at Susan Boyle, Ann widdecombe and if you just look at the good parts Margret thatcher.
Archetypes and Mythologies
Femininity, Masculinity and Beauty

God man myth
Looking at this image and the three words. First word god ok impossible mankind are only human. Second word man well the image of this sculpter shows off a perfect man and nobody is perfect. And the slat word myth I don’t really know what to say about this word maybe that perfect impossible is a myth that  kind of works  ye that’s kind of a great then in my opinion that being perfect is a myth.

Botticelli The Birth of Venus
Talking about this paint for the male games is perfect you have so many things to talk about first of all what I see first, the lady venus then the women the right and the two people on the right.
Venus what’s she doing to show male gaze well her pose how she is standing is innocent delicate, perfect body perfect face for the male also naked next and I think the most shown to show that the is a paint for the male gaze is the women and men the women on the right running to cover up Venus why not a man aby because man want to keep looking. Then to the couple on the left its almost like hes running to her and the female is trying to pull him back.

 Jean Fouquet: The Virgin Mother

The virgin mother I don’t really get this image how can you get a virgin mother. The thought that come to my head is that men what to be with her and the fact that she is a mother tell you it cant be I don’t really know.

Explaining Feminism
Patriarchal Binary Thought

Hannah Wilke

This is like the exactly the opposite of the birth of venue a women shown imperfect. Showing her insecurity as u can see in the photo, in the corner of the room sad looking down and depressed more realistic of real live and its problems for people. Its ugly looking less for male gaze.

Upsetting the male gaze
Can be a great  way  to find out if you or other people are gazing males gaze looks towards the beauty of females so when its gets stopped by seeing something it doesn't want to see, proves that people still do it.

Another image to show the upsetting of the male gaze to show something that is unnatural even them women can grow face hair

sexist advertisement

this is clearly sexist towards women. the female is a complete object in the poster half naked with the logo of the brand just above the bum simply as and excuse to look or gaze. you cant even see her face its just her body posed to see the boobs.

advertisement uses women to advertise there product mostly all the time for males, in beer, cars, cleaning  and they go about doing that by tuning the female to a sex object which works.

My summary on gender and the male gaze

I know it is sexist making a female an object, and I don’t think they are what so ever! but I do like, it if a female is by a cold beer in advertisement. I’m a male nothing about being sexist they aren't just a pretty face it is an attraction.

It doesn't matter what gender you have everyone should have equal rights. And to think otherwise is completely idiotic.

The male gaze has been going on for so long I don’t think it will ever stop hopefully it want be degrading in the future, may we will see women fully dressed instead of  being in a thong bent over something with a house wife smile.

Stereotypes aren't true at all even though I uses them for jokes quite a lot. Everyone is different doesn’t matter if your man or women. No one should be the same that want make you you, it’s always wrong for that expectation to be and look  what you gender is.

Lara Croft

Lara Croft is seen as the monster offspring of science: an idealized, eternally young female automaton, a malleable, well trained techno-puppet created by the male gaze.

being a 3rd person game simply to be able to see her body. the angled third person able to move around the camera to see Lara body.

also there's a popular nude raider patch pornographic dd-on in which you are able to see her naked.

limited 3d

are game presentation was about blades of grass trying to trying to get to new plant because the cows was eating them all, its completely random but funny.
Working with limited 3d space the game is set in space and kind of like asteroids

But in 3d.

So u shoot asteroids like normal but we thought of putting different object, baddies also in the game such as giant cows lawnmower weed killer.
Next we thought how to give the 3d/ game a twist and with liked the idea of spinning and rotating. so the reason could be that they are crashing, So the space ship u are in rotates and spins and you use engine thrusters to slightly control where you are heading.
What makes the game more harder and better as you play. the levels get harder after you destroy all enemy’s.

Ideology

Ideology
BELIEFS, FEELINGS, REPRESENTATIONS,
AND INSTITUTIONS BY WHICH PEOPLE
COLLECTIVELY MAKE SENSE OF THE
WORLD THEY LIVE IN.

My belief I don’t believe in God I believe in science simply because it has evidence behind a mechanic guy that I have to see it to believe it. In  poor countries there are kids sleeping in the streets, drinking dirty water and their government can’t do anything so how come God Jesus wont do anything about it I just find it wrong should  that call for miracle. So yeah I’m more of  a science Guy until it comes up to the big bang I have no idea what the hell make universe has to be some Kind of a god which makes me a bit of the hypocrite.
Quite a shy guy, funny, sweet, kind, very annoying luckily I know when I am small mixed race Welsh Caribbean 19.

 Explain political phenomena – give meaning
to life (desire to be “good parent”; mining
father/son; making money)

Give meaning to life what everybody’s life is different. But these is one thing you need to have that is money. it’s a lot harder to live if you were to have money non. If you didn’t have money well would you live how we get food I would keep warm. In many foreign education without a education you can get a good job to do things as you want in life.

Provide adherents with criteria or standards for
evaluating right/wrong, good/bad

Everybody knows what is right and wrong, but it’s down to the parents to teach you when you’re younger to know the difference. You can tell which kids have been brought right with good parents and the ones that haven’t.

Ideologies are accomplished in and through the repeated actions of everyday life. They reflect our social commitments while at the same time anchoring them deeper in daily practice. Habits of belief through behavior become more entrenched and legitimate.

I like this paragraph I tend to do the same things every day which I hate. I wake on the TV then play my PlayStation go make some food watch more TV play PlayStation again and go a bed. And do the same thing the next day’ so when something else happens that changes the cycle for example go out with my mates, makes me happier and give me a positive behavior.

Control

We have cctv cameras everywhere in the world so the police and see what we are doing is this a good thing or a bad thing, I think both in my eyes if someone commits a crime cctv cameras help completely. if your not a criminal then it’s a   wrong being watched all the time thing is there is nothing you can do to change it you just have to live with it and stay out of trouble, also if trouble comes to you then the cctv become your friend.

Another thing Whiles I was writing this I was watching road wars and they said even when they chase someone; they get court by the cctv and get anyways.

At the end of the day cctv is a good thing its just the people who are watching us that we get concerned.

Panopticon

In 1785, English philosopher jeremay bentham proposed a design for a prison called the panopticon. The prison had a central point from which prison wardewrs were able to watch all the prisoners simultaneously, whilst themselves remaining unobserved.

Two key advantages to this design, Benthan claimed. Firstly, as prisoners would now know whether they were being watched or not, warders would not of been on duty all the time so reducing cost and secondly not knowing if they were being watched all the time the prisoners would have better behaviour.

Its wasn’t just built for confinement and punishment but a design for the inmates morals.
under observation. We often  discipline and begin self policing.

·         For Foucault, it has become a metaphor for modern “disciplinary” societies and their pervasive inclination to observe and normalise. Foucault proposes that not only prisons but all hierarchical structures like the army, the school, the hospital and the factory have evolved you are a history to resemble Bentham’s Panopticon. Are you  According to Foucault, at all levels ofm you odern life, through all our institutions, and you working and domestic life, a web of power is woven around us, scrutinising us, tracking us, and norms and rules of acceptable behaviour upon us.  We feel that we are being watched and monitored, even when we are not, like the prisoners in Bentham’s panopticon. That fear allows very few people to control us. You are you  are  are you
Well yeah that’s really true Foucault in the Army, the school, hospital, factories that they have evolved around Beantham’s  panopticon. All levels of modern life, and you work daemonic life. A weather arouses tracking is all rules of acceptable behaviour, but with that we are felt that we are being watched even that we aren’t, it’s still a possibility that we are.
§  There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live — did live, from habit that became instinct — in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.”
There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. Today there is of course no way of knowing you are being watched still you can look at a CCTV camera but you don’t know if it’s looking at you. CCTV is like the web of Power look at that everybody not just you. There is a mean of the control.
It says it was conceivable that they were being watched every time, the only way that we could be watched every time in today’s world was by a computer and even then it had to be seen by humans Sees humans think that everybody all the time it’s kind of faults in my eyes.

Karl Marx

Suggested that ideologies arise in class-divided societies for the express purpose of political domination
suggested that I do largely arises in class what kind of class the rich the working man in the poorer smart people are stupid people religious people and nonreligious people.

§  “the class that has the means of material production at its disposal consequently also controls the means of mental production” – the class which is the ruling material force of society is at the same time its ruling intellectual force

So the smart people of ruling intellectual force which is kind of true, if you are smart that will be able to gain power and money which means the best ideology class, is the  class that has the means of material production.
§  “the ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas” – thinkers are producers of ideas that the ruling classes use to regulate society
the ruling class would be the government fought they tell is that you can do this so what’s right and wrong, and we use this to help in regular society.

§  within the ruling class, there is a division of labor which ensures that some assume mental tasks while others take on material tasks: some think, while others execute the ideas.
yes this is true again people have physical jobs and others have mental jobs, for work  you need both but some are better than others.  You need scientists that you need it bin men as well.

Karl Marx says

§  Ideology is a false consciousness that swaddles people against deep critical reflection  Marx argued that some illusions were dressed up to sound like claims about the state of nature, e.g. “some people are slaves by nature”; “God made woman to serve man”  Importantly for Marx, the existence of ideologies presupposes the existence of a class behind the ideologies  A powerful class legitimates position via ideology

People aren't slaves by nature and God made woman to serve man is faults. Man said that God made women to serve man. Yes a powerful class legitimates position via ideology.
In my eyes it’s a lot more believable that man told other men, that we could get women to do basically their bidding by saying God made them to do this and do that for them.

Legitimacy

·       Ideology legitimates power; legitimacy is almost always concerned with a claim to a bona fide membership in a class – , art, forms of government…they seem to come by that status naturally – rendering them proper, bona fide, and worthy of respect. You don’t get rid of legitimate powers
first thing was power. The ability to influence outcomes and active goals, to have control over things and people. To have the power to get things done the power to make the hard decisions. It can be won over giving its shore power is the ability to influence the wall around you.

Legitimacy- is doing something according to law. The law being a code of conduct accepted and decided by unanimous majority or authority. It’s a sticky concept.
Legitimate power-is the authority that the leader exercises by default, due to his position in an organisation. A leader is essentially distinguished from a follower, due to the greater rights and responsibilities he or she has, compared to others. The additional rights that power bestows on him or herdistinguishes him from followers.
Of course in a large organisation, there is a power structure and everyone really leader you some higher authority to answer to. Legitimate power can be a relevant concept due to the very nature of power. It. One who takes it. A leader may experience more power than his limits for example they could be accepting additional responsibility from their seniors from the people. Also, a leader may exercise power limit of legitimate boundaries by dividing the jobs to get them people under his or her command.
Also Sometimes in situations where people forget what their legitimate powers are on the abuse it. Maybe they get greedy with power may be the just not very nice people entirely some use the power of a how to control the people who have are  a post to lead. To some of legitimate power is the set of rights which a leader inherits as a was sort of his or her position in a power structure.

Used term of ideology less pejoratively than Marx. Claimed it represented a system of interest, articulation, and reproduction involving key institutions in society such as churches, schools, mass media.

·         Gramsci 1894 1937 Used term of ideology less pejoratively than Marx. Claimed it represented a system of interest, articulation, and reproduction involving key institutions in society such as churches, schools, mass media
Reproduction involving key institutions is interesting churches says u can only have sex after marriage whiles schools teach you that u can only have sex at a sustain age and you can have the option to wait till you are ready. These societies don’t really clash until they confront each other.

Hegemony

·         While ideology emanates from the ruling classes, it becomes hegemonic when it takes on the character of common-sense use and the understanding of the masses in society. It’s this status that makes it possible for others in society to see their interests represented. by the ideology and to become part of the process of reproducing it. This characteristic explains sacrifices by subordinate classes in nationalistic struggles and imperialist ventures
What is hegemony.  Is a big word for a fairly simple idea. One powerful people use their influence to convince less powerful people in the best interests.  I saw this piece about Nathan palmer, Nathan palmer discuss how hegemony is used to get his daughter to bed and to justify the growing economic inequality in the United State.
Hegemony is the act of convincing another that it is in their best interest to do what you want them to do.
As a guy called Tom Sawyer famously convinced his friends that painting a fence was so much fun begging him to let them do Sawyer’s work for him.
Understanding the masses in society and ruling classes, so hegemony is the act to convince another that it is in their best interest to do what they want to  them to do, and a example of this is war.
If we go to war hegemony would be the best way to go about it, so the ruling classes use hegemony to convince the masses in society to go to war. Society would be the country and the people. What would the higher classes used to hegemony the less class a good example is George Bush he wanted to invade Iraq for oil and use the good and bad idea if we don’t stop them( terrorist). They will attack again worse the 911 and the fact they said they had weapons of mass destruction.

Also fake preachers that’s sell god to get them money by convincing them they will public that’s the only way they will be saved.

Common sense is “the way a subordinate class lives its subordination.
Common sense to do what you are told in a subordinate class if to a higher stronger class.

Gramsci and hegemony
·         Coercion and consent…hegemony is a relation, not of domination by means of force, but of consent by means of political and ideological leadership. It is the organisation of consent. Gramsci saw hegemony as a concept both in gaining state power and in maintaining that power once it has been achieved. “A hegemonic class, or part of a class, is one which gains the consent of other classes and social forces through creating and maintaining a system of alliances by means of political and ideological struggle.” Notion of building up alliances is central to concept of hegemony.

I have said about Gramsci, schools, churches, and media about reproduction. The church uses hegemony. The church says if you do that this will have to make to stop you doing it. What you are doing is a sin, and god will punish you.
Also talking about consent back then you needed the churches consent to marry one another. Otherwise you couldn’t.
Many rick countries America for example use these wealth and power coercion poorer weaker smaller countries giving aid and money so hopefully they will be pro-American and also withdrawing aid and money to countries that don’t share their thoughts and ideology.

Althusser
·         DOMINANT IDEOLOGY: Althusser each society has a dominant ideology shared by a majority of people * dominant in numerical terms * dominant in the sense that it tends to support the interests of the dominant, ruling groups
Dominant ideology socirty has a dominant ideology shared majority of people the people who have power and that are happy  so like the people in Britain. The ruling groups of Britain would be the rich.

Meaning of the service of power

·         Repressive State apparatuses: government, hv, army, police, , prisons, etc. “Repressive” suggests SAs “function by violence” – at least ultimately Althusser calls church, schools, family, belief in the power of law, belief in political systems, tradeunionism, etc, Ideological State Apparatuses – ISAs  RSAs belong to the public domain; ISAs to the private domain. RSAs function predominantly by repression and secondarily by ideology; ISAs function primarily by ideology and secondarily by repression, even if concealed or even symbolic “No class can hold State power over a long period without at the same time exercising its hegemony over and in the State Ideological Apparatuses

The people who go to school, church are the good people who believe and abide the law who trust the system. And will follow the rules set by their government. Trust in the police, army and prisons as long as they do their service and does their job to keep the people happy. Classes will exercise
Hegemony over a long period of time may happen but like I said if it doesn't affect the people.

My Summary of ideology

Control, power, beliefs and opinions are the things you grow you which mold you to become who you are.

It’s your own choice to make, yes when you are a child they can be forces upon you but when you start growing up you may change, you beliefs or opinions/ options in life which verse from your beliefs.

In my eyes you can do what every you want as long as it’s good which is what iv been grown you to believe, but in some religions that thought is wrong example Muslims women can’t, they have to work for men. There are many ideology some may be right and some may be wrong. Everyone has different opinions there for you can’t label the right one if so you would have to forces it upon them and that is wrong all together.

Everyone has to follow a law it may be different in other countries it could be a wrong thing to what you think but you can’t stop it just have to live with it. That comes to many things in life we aren't in a utopia yet.

People have power that you don’t like you may have less control over others that’s the way it is in life it is never perfect.

Family, friend, governments, aren't perfect if it’s really affecting you or as a people there will come a point when you will protest agents what is happening.

So for example when David Cameron put the student fees and Migrate Thatcher introduce the poll tax. It doesn’t affect the higher class because they have the money, but when it comes to the lower and middle classes it becomes an issue.

Like the old saying, you can fool some of the people all the time. All the people some of the time but you can-not fool all the people all the time.

game ideas for utopia

Game ideas

Making a game of Utopia or a dystopia is quite difficult it's been done quite a lot. I wouldn't know how to go about it, do I pick a Utopia is to appear both where would I set it up passed the future on another planet, would have humans or aliens may be something else. I don't really know.

If it about this for quite a while. I wonder what force popped into my head about character that is in complete chaos around him and in his life everything is manic but not in a bad way in a busy way people always surround Utopia dystopia of good and evil. And I'm trying to think of something away from that. Maybe a character that wants a peaceful life like a person who lives in the city he wants move to the country, it could be a Flash game or app game. Yeah that the quite quirky idea of maybe a funny old man trying to leave a busy city of things. In by the harsh way but an annoying way such as people trying to get to work and to dodge them to cross the road enough to do some puzzles, what else some part of the gameplay get chased by a dog.
trying to keep away from the stereotypical Utopia of good and evil right and wrong. What else in the game maybe the old man is trying to get to the countryside to a  quite little village

How can I make the game appealing to buyers. I would start by midfield man appealing to the buyers make a funny give him  funny quotes for the game. Also make the game quite irritating by using difficulty to make it addictive,

The game will be an app game for smart phones and tablets.

Here is a another idea, you play the villain is not done very much. The game infamous does it but you get the chance/option to play as the good guy of the villain in this game you're just the villain. And you're the one who's trying to destroy the Utopia simply because you like to destroy things.
Just to give it a twist, try something different. Maybe if a guy who is second in command off the evil Emperor and yours just as mean as him and he gives you mission is to destroy buildings kill people to corrupt the Utopia. And as you progress through the game you get more evil, and you get to do more evil things such as poison people kidnapped people in the end you become the Emperor and become King of the Utopia which now is a dystopia because you rule it in your eyes it's a Utopia.

dystopia

Zombies.

I was thinking about the idea of the game.  And as a group thinking about using plants as the enemy instead of People, that are aware off a dystopia and utopia.

Using images of fungus, i started to come up with ideas and concepts on the creatures for the game.
Looking at the fungus I noticed it grows on top off the plants and trees, so I just changed it from being on a tree to a person to change them into a zombie. The fungus is already alien like i didn't really have to change it to look horrible.

Dystopia

When I think of dystopia I start to think of all the bad things on the planet, and all those horrible things in one place. Making  that place in some kind of hell. And  the People that are liars, that horrible to each other. And live in buildings that  are broken, cold, wet and  the people of power abuseing it. The whole place in Darkness

Thinking about utopia and to appear as a place where those good things and bad things, is just another way of saying heaven and hell. I think the main difference between them is that having a hell is where Demons ghosts monsters are and in heaven obviously Angels and gods. whereas utopia and  dystopia is more the people that are alive, its not fantasy. Saying we get to a utopia and dystopia were all good people and all the bad people separated. what next, we've reached the goal of civilisation.
Now I can't stop thinking about war. The good people and the bad people trying to destroying each other, what would stop that happening, what would mainly stop the bad people stepping over into the utopia and trying to take control. With the people that are living in the dystopia find it to be a utopia even if it is a horrible place to others would it be a utopia to them, would that stop them trying to take over the  utopia that is good.

I’m just trying to think how it would work, I would love the world to become a utopia. all the horrible nasty foul people that are holding the world back with their  stupidity, to disappear. with so many people in this world with different beliefs, different opinions, its incredibly hard to get people thinking the same way to be able to live together in harmony.

UTOPIA

Utopia and dystopia
Paradise and kayos

·         This is from google website: A utopia (/juːˈtpiə/) is a community or society possessing highly desirable or perfect qualities. The word was coined in Greek by Sir Thomas More for his 1516 book Utopia, describing a fictional island society in the Atlantic Ocean. The term has been used to describe both intentional communities that attempt to create an ideal society, and fictional societies portrayed in literature. It has spawned other concepts, most prominently dystopia

People with perfect qualities are hard to come by. Everyone isn’t perfect. The word perfect is hard to live up to, does everything in a utopia have to be perfect. Do you split everything in the world to good things and bad things? Also bad unfortunately is good to others.
So how would humanity overcome this situation? They say that to get to a utopia it takes time, and maybe over time people will change. You just have to look at history to see that it is capable of doing, like for example religion, science and medicine. So in a utopia people will have to agree with everything if they don’t it will course conflict.
utopian proposal is Plato's Republic.[1] Part conversation, part fictional depiction.
But I think that we are trying to get to a utopia in reality which will take a heck of a long time to accomplish. But slowly we may get there if people join together and put their differences aside which may never happen in this day and age. People are still far too stubborn to change that much.
Power
Would a utopia be run by the people or by leaders? and this is where control comes in to play. and with control comes struggle and with struggle comes force. So what happens to you if you don’t agree with the utopia which everyone else is trying to build would you get kicked out or would you be killed? Being killed is possible in the extreme case, of making a utopia work. So do you live in this utopia to survive. in that case it’s not your utopia but its better the living in a dystopia, there isn’t anything else because  like I said its only good and bad things in the world. Unless the utopia is an island.

still looking at japan and sumo wrestling, so the have there training then at noon they bathe then the high ran wrestles sit down to eat the food is served by the lower-ranked wrestlers. the food staple of the stable is "chankonabe", a high calorie, nutrition's stew of chicken, fish, miso or beef.
mention just a few of the possibilities. Side dishes of fried chicken, steak and bowls of rise- and even salads fill out the meal.

Financially, rikirhi can be didvided into two groups: those who earn a salary and those who dont. lower-ranked wrestlers revive no salary, allthough they earn a small tournament bonus ( and food and lodging are provided ).

when a wrestle reaches the juryo level he becomes a sekitor, or ranked wrestler, and so worthy of a salary of a least US $7 000 a mouth. An ozeki receives at least $16 000 monthly and a yokozuna gain $20 000
and the winner of six annual tournament receives $100 000

Ranks rikishi or wrestlers
higher rank to top rank ozeki then to a yokozuna.

this is really interesting to me the different ranks how the lower ranks wrestlers serves the high rank wrestlers, the ozeki. i thought they must eat all the time but the fact the wake up at 6 am to train with matches with one an other all the ranks train together  and exercise up to noon and the food what find of finance where they stay called the chankonable stable.

book China and Japan

im looking at the books about Asian China and Japan. there are so many things that fascinate me to the cutler, building, landscape and art so many things i don't know why I'm so interested maybe the fact they are different i love different the "other" places that i don't know.

what caught my eye was the festivals i don't really know a lot about them. so what i found out was that they are an important part of Chinese culture and tradition, festivals are generally happy and colorful affairs that reaffirm ancient beliefs and customs the biggest and most important festival is spring festival, or Chinese New Year. This brings families together for several days: the home is cleaned and everyone dresses up in new clothes: decorations are put up and gifts are exchanged; and finally there is always time for a lively and noisy carnival climaxing in a brilliant display of pyrotechnics. Nearly all the festival elements and rituals are geared towards bringing good luck and prosperity. in business all debts should be settled by Chinese New Year. Overall the festivities last about 15 days about the hole country closes down for only four.

lion dance - preformed at the new year and other festivals. usually two people are required to play the lion. The dance demands more martial arts skills than the dragon dance also preformed on these occasions. this

dafo, le shan is a 230 is a great budda whish is carved in to the red sandstone face of lingyun hill overlooking the treacherous confluence of the min, dadu and the Qingyi rivers below in AD 1713 a monk, haitong, decided to safeguard passing boats be creating a protective icon in the cliffs
this would be a cool concept of a game maybe the icon is a giant u have to destroy.

looking at a japan book i saw sumo wrestlers i thought to myself  i don't know anything about them just that they are large fat wrestlers, turns out you got different ranks. top ranks is ozeki, yokozuma ( grand champion, the highest rank and rarely achieved). does life become easy . those in the lower ranks become  the ozekes or yokozuna's  servents and valets, doing nearly everything form running errands to scrubbing. backs.
Beya the so called stables in which the wrestles live a communal lifestyle rikkshi or wrestlers
there day starts at 6 am they dont have breakfast the train instead with harsh and tediouse excises work to develop the wrestlers. Flexibility, strength followed with practice matches

gender issue and male gaze in Hitman (gameone)

these are the saints they work for the agency.

yes its cool to have a all  female group but to have them all in latex stockings and suspenders and heals  is the issue you couldn't fight in that it is so obvious  its for the male gaze  in life u couldn't go to fight wearing what they have on they stick out like a sore thumb and be shot down i think the idea of the of being nuns is brilliant but this is being perverted.

Maybe dress them up at actual nuns the have weapons underneath the clothes like the matrix. so they look all innocent but they pull out the guns and tune to killers, i think that would be a good twist in stead of latex suspenders with big guns.

gender issue and male gaze in Hitman (gameone)

iv picked Hitman absolution because of the story line is basically a damsel in distress.
You play as the famous 47 hit man and u have to protect this little girl called Victoria. she then one who gets kidnapped and you have to try to find her from bad men.

the title menu starts up with Diane Burnwood  in a shower. also you killer her  in the first part of the game. but she does betray the agency so he has to kill her in a way

the character Victoria is the special girl that every one wants but she is shown scared and weak and in most of the game she is ill see is seen more as a object then a person she doesnt talk that much, what ever 47 says she does.

the sceen in the photo is a part of the game where she is ill and and you have to carry her to safety. but the only reason she is il is bcause this neck-less that makes her special has been taken off. the neck-less make her a super killer. she was also made.

Another part of the games which is a huge male gaze is the strip club
you walk in to this and there are nothing but dirty perverted men. even though the object is to kill a male to find out where Victoria is but you still have to wait for him to get a lap dance before your  able to finish him. i find that funny they they done it so you get to see him get a dance and whiles hes getting a dance i at the same time are watching it also the camera so we have three things viewing.

here is a classic gender issue yes the guy is a pig and is the kind of guy who would spend his most of his time is a strip club but you don't really need to show the strippers with their legs open and able to see that is not part of the game its simply to perv.

Gender and the Gaze

who looks at who ?

Sex: biological
Gender: showing the way we are seen.

biological, sex is fixed.

you see in games the male character is very massacring and the females are very femerin
but we dont want to see massacring females men dont like it and females dont really to.

Gender
Stereotypes the nature/ culture questions

{binary}

natural or culture

examples dsmsule in distress so princess peach kidnapped by bower allways saved by the male.
nature

nature is sex (masscaling)

Archetypes and Mythologies

gods that are in art works shown men fighting and the girls are being girls

the way they are standing.

the virgin mother; a mother is god in the eyes of a baby which maybe give a women power, and why isnt there a painting but with a father insted even today when culture is changeing were the fathers are given the mothers role there isnt art to show it .

grayson Perry/ Claire:

befor dressing up as a women would be mad and even now its concided odd but shouldnt be a issue hes a professinal artist its his life he can wear what ever he wants to.

Beyonce super star singer she showes her body off does she have to no. women say they want to show of ttheir bodies I think thats it she knows she doesnt have to she has a world class vioce she doesnt wear skimpy clothes all the time like some artes out there like rhianna her videos past year are so sexual because of her song. which are completly diffrent from beyonce. she sings about love and boyfriends why doent she sing about guns money and all that its not her style. their are a lot of  women that can sing about that.

It is the first important to introduce its past concept: the gaze. According to Wikipedia the gaze is concept used for “analysing visual culture… That deals with how an audience views the people presented.” The type of gaze are primarily categorised by who is doing the looking.
While the ideas behind the concept were present in earlier you uses of the gaze, the introduction of the term the male gaze can be traced back to Laura mulyey and her essay visual pleasure and narrative Cinema which was published in 1975. In its Mulyey states that in film woman are typically the objects rather than the possessors of the gaze comes from the camera (the gaze)  laura mulyey is talking about Hollywood film that the overwhelmingly male watches the female and that it is still happening today which I think is true, Hollywood and the male audience likes to watch the pretty girl just look at the film avengers fall I am man the whole and Hawkeye all male then you get black widow played by the beautiful and talented Scarlett Johansson which is in a skimpy tight black suit. Also for another example of the new Star Trek movie into darkness the whole cast are men except the two women, and one of those women strips down into her underwear she says to turn around and look away when she gets undressed and even then still see her  because the captain peaks and the camera looks at her.

digital arabs

these are just quick thoughts I had in the lecture.

the enemy is the other but we don't want to know the enemy. So we pick some times with people if we like them or not if they are us or a other yes or no.

terrorist always have the ak47 so a stereotypical gun.

if you on the other side you are a bad guy. the issues that you are fighting at don't change to being good we you play the other side.

In real life you cant win afgan. countries have tried for houndred of years only games you can win.

they are shown that they are disorganised messy loud un professional rubish but they are still able to kill us keep up the fight so this isnt true they must be doing somthing right.

9/11 you seen how bad it was which gave you a physical emotion anger with the terrorist which makes you want to play games that you are able to kill them get bk at them.

I'm just thinking about the war in Iraq with Americans are comparing it to call of duty. In call of duty the American side wants to stop the bad guys but in real life, George Bush invaded the country for oil not to stop the bad guys. And the Taleban are a bunch of religious terrorists that do want to destroy the West and control the own country using corruption and violence. So should  America invade the country to stop that not for oil.

hybrid

Blade Runner

hybrid city of the west and east combined is happing as we speek just really slowly.
in the film is a full hybrid city but in life today its not quite there yet. we have china towns in cities but that about it in the film the eastern is full blown merged with western.
hybrid speaking  is happing a lot more. all ready you get people speaking different languages chines English Spanish... speaking in a different language is quite common now give it some years and you'l get the hole world doing it I think it will come natural.
So will mixed race will be.

Racism, sexist will all disappear if the West and East truly become a full hybrid civilization the Next Generation won’t be able to be racist because they will be hybrid if they want the cheapest white or just black just Spanish, will be mixed race so we will be able to and hopefully they wouldn't want to.

Thinking about the hybrid civilisation is brilliant to me it’s just a massive positive, why wouldn't it

Quite a cool game idea would be that the world has become fully hybrid. And now the civilization of the human race has changed into a new civilisation, which is at peak of are technology, medicine entertainment and all that. You play as a character that that is Russian and Chinese British American all rolled into one and you live in a city which is like New York but it’s in a completely different country. In the objective of the game that you play a police officer who is trying to stop the last corrupt government which is like the BMP. Also  they are like a cult  also they consist of not just one  race of people but many, so for example French people just want French people Americans just one Americans and Russians just want Russians. They don’t like the idea of people being mixed they want people to be pure as in pure Russian, French, Chinese and so on.
